Except for the hardcore gamers, not many people recognize the HyperX brand in India. It’s a gaming subsidiary of Kingston that makes high-end gaming accessories, and we are telling you this because it has recently launched a gaming keyboard in India.
HyperX Alloy FPS has all the standard features you would expect from a gaming keyboard- minimum latency, anti-ghost keys and completely back-lit. Housed in a metallic frame, the keyboard looks premium, sturdy and can easily cater to the most enthusiastic gamers. The keyboard is compatible with Windows 7 and onward, offering one of the fastest responses you can find on the market.
What’s special
Though HyperX Alloy isn’t a groundbreaking product, it does have its fair share of features up its sleeves. For starters, you get an additional USB port on the keyboard- which comes handy to connect any other accessories or even charge your phone while you are immersed in gaming. It also has considerable customization options- something considered a must for the gaming community. You can change the keycaps and play around with the backlit options like brightness and theme for a more personalized user experience.
What’s missing
As mentioned, it has everything you would expect from any high-end gaming keyboard, but nothing ground-breaking. One thing however that may put some people off is that the color of the backlight can’t be changed from red to any other. On the black hardware though, it looks pretty classic and you will eventually get used to it.
The worst thing about the keyboard perhaps is its price tag. At Rs. 11,000, it is on a bit expensive side as other options with similar features are already available at lower prices.
