LG, an acclaimed name in the smartphone segment takes its smartphone mid-range to a new level by launching Stylo 3 Plus, which is exceptional especially with the price tag and features it sports. It is available in the US only and can be grabbed without a contract from T-Mobile at a price tag of $225.

A skillfully designed body, a latest operating system and features like the fingerprint scanner and full HD display are good enough for a mid-range device to meeting the expectations of the buyers.

On the outside, the smartphone looks great with a premium metal frame and a removable back cover- helpful for those who like to carry a spare battery on long trips. The bottom of the phone features the micro-USB and the 3.5mm audio ports while the volume rockers get a place on the right side of the phone.

The company’s emblem resides at the back in the centre while just above it there is fingerprint scanner for users to unlock the smartphone in the most secure fashion. Moving ahead, there is a 13-megapixel rear camera that comes with flash and autofocus support. Both the elements placed at the back form a vertical capsule-like ring, which adds to the stylish appearance of the Stylo 3 Plus. The smartphone also features a stylus that can be pulled out from the top edge of the phone.

A special feature that prevents your stylus pen from getting misplaced has been included. A popup message gets displayed on the screen when the smartphone detects the stylus bay being empty and the phone is in motion- allowing you to look for your stylus pen before it gets lost.

At the front, there is a 5MP camera for selfie lovers whose competence extends with the inbuilt face detection feature. The company has offered no physical buttons in the front as the screen buttons will navigate you through different screens. This feature is regular for Apple devices while we hardly see it coming with Android devices.

The 3080mAh battery fitted inside the device is capable of withstanding 25 hours straight while it is good enough for 14 hours of talking. That’s a lot of talking. The connectivity options that are supported by the device include Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, and 4G VoLTE.

Talking about the specifications, the smartphone gets a full package upgrade than its predecessor, the Stylus 2 Plus. Under the hood, it gets a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor coupled with a RAM of 2GB. The operating system responsible for carrying out tasks within the device is the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. In addition to this, there is a 5.7-inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display that is generally a part of smartphones of a slightly higher price range. It’s good to see a manufacturer including it in a smartphone of under $250.

On the storage front, it has an inbuilt storage tank of 32GB, which can be extended via microSD card. Plus, you need to acquire a Nano SIM from your network provider for the things to get started.

The LG Stylo 3 Plus is available in the US market and you can purchase it from T-Mobile by paying $225 upfront or in easy 24-month installments. The announcement of it being made available in the international market is yet to be made by the company officials. Stay tuned.
